    The work objective of sales representatives who work for manufacturers is to provide support to retailers. Their actions are geared towards increasing sales and, therefore, generating higher profits for the retailer. To manage a team of salespeople in the FMCG market is a particularly difficult task - difficult because it belongs to those very few management tasks during whose implementation the manager has very few opportunities to see his or her salespeople face to face. Usually the nature of the task is 'distance management', the distance, however, can be 'reduced' through the implementation of advanced data management technologies. At that point information supplied in daily reports no longer represents just additional burden to be included in the analysis of the documents piling up on the sales manager's desk but, first of all, it becomes instrumental in providing an opportunity to spot a direct relationship between the sales team's efforts and results.

    The Sales Force Record Keeping is a part of the Signo system and it will automatically arrange information submitted in daily reports. This will eliminate additional workload related to manual entry of daily report data into the database.

    Among other things, the Record Keeping module will read:
  • report date,
  • sales representative's ID,
  • distance traveled (in km),
  • duration of sales call
  • data concerning the store and products,
  • tasks performed,
  • orders collected
  • advertising materials issued.
